                                    | About the
                                        project
SbK is almost 4 years old as I am
updating this page in Oct 2023.
Spins by Kilz is still a one
person project for the most part
but a few friends help testing the
spins. I doubt I knew what the
project would become when I made
my first spin. But I am happy I
                                      started the project and look
                                      forward to the future.

SbK is my way of giving back
to the Linux community in some
small part for all that I have
received over the past 17 years.
This year Debian spins were added
to the Manjaro releases. I spent a
lot of time in the Debian
community and its forks in the
early days of my Linux journey.

There are three main parts to this
                                      project:

 The Spins.
 I create unofficial spins of
Manjaro based on the stable branch
and Debian testing as a rolling
                                      release. These spins use the
theming created and stored in the
repositories. I have no want or
                                      need to create yet another
distribution. My goal is to make
each desktop look and function at
                                      its best.

 The Themes
 The project creates Grub, LightDM,
                                      Icon, Gtk, Kvantum, Cinnamon, and
                                      Gnome shell themes. While the
theme packages may be named for a
                                      specific desktop, they should work
with the others. The exception is
KDE, its theming is very different
than the others. Since I use
                                      Lightdm, its the only display
manager with themes in the repo.

 The Repositories.
They hold all of the packages I
                                      have created for the main
                                      distributions. The repo for
Manjaro Linux should be Arch Linux
compatible but has not been tested
on Arch. Most of the packages deal
with theming of the Linux desktop.
                                      There are also some applications
from the AUR and those I have
                                      forked. The Debian repository is
rather new and holds mostly theme
                                      packages.
