SbK creates spins of
Manjaro and Debian
Linux, both are rolling
releases, and releases
them as iso files. They
are live install media
that let you try out the
desktop before
installing.
All of the spins have
these features:
- Manjaro has the
latest Long Term
Support kernel, Debian
the newest kernel.
- They are multi-arch
by default to make
running wine games and
other 32bit software
you may run easier.
- The Spins by Kilz
signed repository is
enabled for SbK
project packages.
- All Manjaro iso's
are signed. For
information on
checking signed iso's
click
here.
- Bloatware has been
removed (HP printer
software and others)
- Flat packs and snaps
are not installed.
- All SbK Manjaro
iso's contain the
Manjaro Architect
script in case you
want to do a custom
install.
- Timeshift autosnap
is installed. It takes
a snapshot before
upgrading so any bad
upgrades can be easily
reversed.
- For the most part
they use docks instead
of panels, focus on
dark themes, and
include a basic conky.
- Most of the releases
will have a full and a
minimal iso available.
The full version is
recommended for new
Linux users.
At present Manjaro has 5
main spins and Talking
Mate which is built every
other release series.
Debian has 4. Clicking on
the image below will open
a full size image in a new
window. All images on the
website are watermarked
"SpinsbyKilz.com". This
watermark will not be on
the installed desktop.
